Unashamed Love

At church tonight I prayed with a few girls. As we took prayer requests, I realized how thankful and lucky I am to be working with these kids. One girl's prayer request really stood out to me. She prayed that the people at our church would be set on fire and have a passion for God. That's an important and bold request; especially from a 14 year old. We get done praying and we chat while we wait on the other groups to get done. We talked about her request and then she said something that almost made me cry. She said that she wants people in our church to love God the way I do. She then said that she wants to be like me when she gets to be my age. Wow. I had no idea what to say to that. Luck for me, Tim started to sing again.

The kids are amazing and I see God at work in their lives everyday. I love to hear about their days and what's going on in their lives. I do pray that God grants her request. God is so great to be hidden in our little church. These girls have an unashamed love for our God and they aren't afraid to show it. I am utterly thankful for where God has placed me.

How wonderful! I do pray that God would set the people at our church on fire for him. A lot of folks could be lead by the example in the youth department. It would be really nice to see some excitement (not that we don't have some really committed people of God there) but I think as people get older they just get lazy or think they are to old to express themselves and they seem to think that they need to be more "sedate and dignified" in their worship, but if they would just "Let Go" just think what an amazing worship experience we would have and the revival that would come from it!!!!

By the way Jeanny you are a great example of a young women of God. You, Mary, Katie, Mesha etc. I'm so thankful that the younger youth have someone to look up to.

We're told to obey those over us and to imitate their faith. That's exactly what she's doing. And when we see so many ungodly 'roll models' that young girls today are following - a.k.a. Brittany Spears, Hannah Montana - it's a breath of fresh air to have young women like you to shine their light in front of these younger girls. Your an awesome youg woman! Love you!
